IPL stands for 'Intense Pulse Light'. It is a light therapy which permanently destroys the hair folicle by heating the pigment within that hair folicle. The light used is not the harmful UVA/UVB wave length.

What does the treatment feel like?

When the pulse of light is delivered, some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required.
